God, living in my house

I have a fairly big house, and my husband and I often host overnight guests. We enjoy these visits and look forward to sharing what God has loaned us.

I read John 14:23 today and my eyes flew open. “Jesus said, “if anyone loves me, he will obey my teachings. My Father will love him, and we will come and make our home with him.”

My pulse quickened and my first thought was man, I got to get up and dust! God living with me in my house - can you imagine? He would be here for quick advice, midnight chats, to praise the new recipes, to smile at my jokes and give me a hug of encouragement when I need one.

The back room could be His. It has new curtains and a fresh coat of paint. I can change the pictures if He wants…

After I stopped panting, I realized God already lives in my house. I have access to Him anytime I want. It is me who ignores His presence.

I spent the day talking and acting like God was moseying-around beside me in His house slippers. There were a few odd moments, but the day was amazing. God, living in MY HOUSE.

If you belong to Christ, God lives in your house, too. Spend time enjoying the company.

Regina
